innovative ship that set a number of precedents in engineering design as the first ocean-going iron ship, the first with screw propellers, and the forefunner of the modern passenger liner. Largest passenger ship afloat at the time; broke record for Atlantic cross in 14 days. Abandoned in 1886 in the Falkland Islands to be used as a floating warehouse and coal storage. still in existance open to the public as of 2017.
