Benjamin Lax, James West, and Donald T. Stevenson gather behind a desk to look at some papers. Original caption: "Conferring at Lincoln Laboratory during discussions on the new M.I.T. Magnet Laboratory are three members of the staff for the facility which is expected to be operational 1964. Left to right, Dr. Benjamin Lax, who will be director, James M. West, who will be assistant director for administration, and Dr. Donald T. Stevenson who will be assistant director.
