Original caption: "One of the scientific world's most unusual jobs is held by pretty Agneta Mueller, who is a member of the staff of the Instrumentation Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. At the Laboratory's Special Test Facility at Hanscom Field, Miss Mueller makes measurements of the tip of a giant whirling centrifuge. She is seen here in her "cage" located just above the center of the 18-ton centrifuge. The instrument in front of Miss Mueller is known as a Filar Micrometer and is used to measure distortions of the tip of the centrifuge arm at high acceleration."
