Description

White porcelain cup-shaped high form crucible with small perforations on the base.

A Gooch crucible, named after chemist Frank Austin Gooch, is a piece of laboratory equipment that is used to filter out precipitates from a solution. This one was used by the MIT Chemistry Department until it was donated to the museum in 1978.
