Mashnee

Contact us about this vessel

Description

Mashnee is one of 14 cutters commissioned by the Beverly Yacht Club in 1901 to form a one design racing class in Buzzard’s Bay. Known as Buzzard’s Bay 30s, these yachts had centerboards to enable sailing in shallow water. Like the rest of her class, Mashnee originally has a large gaff mainsail. The rig was altered to its current Marconi arrangement in 1939.

Mashnee is currently owned by the MIT Nautical Association, and is sailed by MIT students in Boston Harbor and on the Charles River.
